I almost cannot believe I actually made it and guess what?
It was not very hard!
I made…. Mozzarella cheese! Even better it was ready to eat
in about 30 minutes!
Best part… it only cost me about
3$ to make what would equal 3-4 balls of fresh mozzarella from the grocery store.
I used this tutorial… the best party trick ever, how to make thirty minute mozzarella
Here is what mine looked like just
before I started to strain it
Here is the finished product :)
it is YUMMY too!
So I made myself a pizza for lunch :)
Is it OK if I admit I feel like a "Homemade superstar" today?
What will you try next?
I am going to try to make Ricotta out of the leftover Whey (which there is a TON of!)
very cool! now Im going to have to search out the possibility of doing this with non-dairy milk. what do ya think?
ReplyDeleteI have no idea... Sorry! Thank goodness for the internet, I know you will find the answer :) Good Luck!
ReplyDeleteI am curious too as Dairy is not my best friend. If I find anything out I will let you know.
I am anxious to see your GF Sandwich bread recipe :)
I have to try making this again. I did once, and it took longer than 30 min, and came out pretty dry. I'm inspired to give it another go!
ReplyDeleteMine was not as moist as the fresh as from the store since I did handle it a bit more but that was OK by me. I have most of it in the freezer and I'm hoping to shred it for Pizza etc.
ReplyDeleteGive it another go and I'd love to hear your results!
