If you have been following me for a while you know that I Craft in my unfinished basement. we make good use of our space down here. Hubby and I have a makeshift bedroom (walled off by heavy curtains. We have a gaming / TV area as well as laundry, wood stove and 3/4 bath.<br />
<br />
I have wanted to do something new with my craft storage wall for a while but did not really want to spend much money. I am hoping in the next few years to be able to move upstairs when my kids move out.<br />
<br />
So for the past 4 days I have been working my but off refurbishing a set of rusty, dirty shelves I grabbed free from the driveway of a neighbor. Here they are right after I got them home...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Yup they are pretty grimy! After much scrubbing they looked a bit more like this...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

After lots of sanding and scraping I began Painting....</div>

<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I used<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; display: inline; float: none; font-family: "times new roman"; font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: 400; letter-spacing: normal; text-align: left; text-decoration: none; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; word-spacing: 0px;"> flat </span>white Rustoleum. After 3 cans of the spray and 1 quart of the paint (total supply cost was around $30.00) they looked like this...</div>

<div>
</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Yup I know there is a whole in the bottom of one but I'm not worried about it. </div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
My boy helped me move them to our basement and I was ready to get started. My before looked a bit like this (I forgot to purposely get a good photo.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiI-y-rB7QbB4zR2sQsqvV8u3eirtkCnaUd9_21q6bSQ7EO0gCBhjAgHX0E83T4VyEuhg-Opjt7Frb3uRcMzEc1lNTz6OaUagrKbvFevo8Zk20xxmS2DAxfnOUg34BZlj4ftlo2VSbMakAN/s1600/before.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="727" data-original-width="877" height="265" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiI-y-rB7QbB4zR2sQsqvV8u3eirtkCnaUd9_21q6bSQ7EO0gCBhjAgHX0E83T4VyEuhg-Opjt7Frb3uRcMzEc1lNTz6OaUagrKbvFevo8Zk20xxmS2DAxfnOUg34BZlj4ftlo2VSbMakAN/s320/before.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Now my space looks like this!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3NylOXNspkVOKXkwqDjEEc8n7uZD9s9r7w6Rr-cSetknaaohIwhQ9RMSiEd_28gUtF9O-kwvJIEIBuae-KK4Ih8AaLmEav432TSbvf-1NjTuHoCQqoAhfPlll1bL32pUuCjt6P6VYcBGy/s1600/0804181659_wm.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1024" data-original-width="768" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3NylOXNspkVOKXkwqDjEEc8n7uZD9s9r7w6Rr-cSetknaaohIwhQ9RMSiEd_28gUtF9O-kwvJIEIBuae-KK4Ih8AaLmEav432TSbvf-1NjTuHoCQqoAhfPlll1bL32pUuCjt6P6VYcBGy/s320/0804181659_wm.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I just LOVE it! I have a few more inches of room between this and my desk and it is much brighter. Also I can see everything better. Things are more spread out instead of being stacked behind and on top of each other! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Two of the shelves are anchored to the joists above but only with rope for now. Hubby Will help be do a proper job with steel strapping when I am sure this is working well. I did try to keep the heaviest items on the bottom or lower shelves and I do have blocks of wood (some are wood blocks from old wood mounted stamps!) under the corners by the legs for extra support. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I even finally got my desk clean!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEienwC95i9jEa6iMWpcjpmPwaGCTMJBYyGMevDIjlCY2DP_6xUReyKC8TX-kyLZqBzXxs5hQ9ANIVhDRGlkcrf27iq5K42ep7uNSweUMYfaVVkV9MqxHPBkABT8on_g3z37BOlyGzwzjc5c/s1600/0804181706_wm.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="768" data-original-width="1024" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEienwC95i9jEa6iMWpcjpmPwaGCTMJBYyGMevDIjlCY2DP_6xUReyKC8TX-kyLZqBzXxs5hQ9ANIVhDRGlkcrf27iq5K42ep7uNSweUMYfaVVkV9MqxHPBkABT8on_g3z37BOlyGzwzjc5c/s320/0804181706_wm.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
My Storage wall is behind me as I sit here. With a busy family I like to be able to look out and see what is going on. I do not like looking at walls!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Here is a super sped up video of my progress... <iframe width="320" height="266" class="YOUTUBE-iframe-video" data-thumbnail-src="https://i.ytimg.com/vi/JAckQfnJKYU/0.jpg" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/JAckQfnJKYU?feature=player_embedded" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This project led to lots of shifting around the house. The piece I pulled out went to the opposite side of the basement to actually be used for its purpose... an Entertainment center and looks great. The cubes the basement TV was sitting on went up to the boys room to be the base for a desk. (Still working on that one... </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
If the weather had not worked out so perfectly admittedly I probably would not have pushed so fast to get this project completed. I am sooooooo glad I did!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I hope I have inspired you to try something new or repurpose items you have around you. I could have easily spent HUNDREDS of dollars on a similar project.</div>
<div>

Thanks for stopping by!</div>

There I said it...<br />
I am a sucker for stopping in at Caribou or my local small town shop for a cup of icy heaven. I could easily spend $20+ a week if I got this as often as I wanted. Well I would rather spend my money on crafty items than on something consumable.<br />
A few weeks ago I searched the web for ideas on how to make my own at home and this is what I have come up with...<br />
<br />
<iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="270" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/jbG_-oqIEdo" width="480"></iframe><br />
<br />
Supplies:<br />
Your favorite coffee grounds (slightly coarse tends to work better)<br />
Strainer<br />
coffee filters<br />
Water<br />
Container to hold grounds and water while brewing<br />
Container to hold finished brew<br />
coffee flavorings of choice<br />
<br />
Place 1/2 cup coffee in container (I used a Quart mason jar)<br />
Add 3-4 cups of water (I fill the jar to the top)<br />
let sit for 24 hours<br />
Strain grounds<br />
Enjoy!<br />

Today I finished up a card that was a really hard one for me in many ways. I am not great at scene building so it was really out of my comfort zone. I hope you agree it turned out pretty cute.</span><br />

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
FYI this is larger than a standard A2 card. It actually came out a wonky size because I was not paying attention :) I think it is 5 1/2 x 6 1/2. I will need to make a custom envelope but that it easy.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
If you have any questions about how I made the card let me know. It was basically all ink blending except the water which I used a water pen from Jane Davenport. Then covered with the Judikins Diamond Glaze.</div>

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"> So I have posted many videos on my YouTube using my Brother Scan N Cut but for some silly reason I have been terrified to cut vinyl.... I don't know why... It has just been one of those things. <br />
This past weekend at the <a href="https://scrapbookexpo.com/">Stamp and Scrapbook expo</a> there was a booth called <a href="https://crafterdepot.com/">Crafter Depot</a>. They were selling tons of vinyl and accessories. I decided to invest in some Heat transfer vinyl and get some of the transfer tape needed for the sticky back kind (already had a bit of that. <br />
Today I finally put into use all I had learned from all the MANY you tube videos I have watched. <br />
<br />
And...........</span></div>

Mini coffee cup holder Hi all, I have been working on a few projects for my first craft fair in a few weeks. If you follow my Instagram you have probably seen some of my goodies there. This weekend I got my order of mini coffee cups (a friend and I split 100) We ordered them here... <a href="https://www.webstaurantstore.com/choice-4-oz-white-poly-paper-hot-cup-pack/9994W.html">Webrestaurantstore.com</a> you can also find them on Amazon <a href="http://amzn.to/2zAMuNx">Mini coffee cups</a> and <a href="http://amzn.to/2y7OJU8">lids</a>.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjsTetJauIpdis_qlarZybD1wdpDvp7e8N0jv3j3D-ZH7p4cGh9wYMhVFLQk_LwW8OV14pnZzMlsTCQvzd062N49g8jDJPwRsicLYcoxB_7l2-_5uhYh8JTTf2pBsGADv9LPPsVNVF7-oYl/s1600/1105172135.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjsTetJauIpdis_qlarZybD1wdpDvp7e8N0jv3j3D-ZH7p4cGh9wYMhVFLQk_LwW8OV14pnZzMlsTCQvzd062N49g8jDJPwRsicLYcoxB_7l2-_5uhYh8JTTf2pBsGADv9LPPsVNVF7-oYl/s320/1105172135.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
I made a template in my <a href="http://amzn.to/2AnDfxe">Scan N Cut</a> to wrap around the cup. for the holder I cut 1 piece of paper 2 3/4 x 7 and one 2 3/4 x 8 1/2 . score both from one short end at 1 7/8", then at 4 3/4" and at 6" on the longer piece also score at 7 1/2.<br />
For assembly glue together (on top of each other for a base) where you scored 1 7/8. For the outside pocket on this one I do not remember the exact dimensions I just did it to fit the width of the card + 1/2 inch so I could fold in 1/4" on 3 sides to fold under and glue to the front.<br />
<br />

<br />
For this one I cut a slit along the fold on the back side leaving 1/4 inch on either side of the slit.<br />
<br />
I'm hoping to make a video but I can't make any promises :) Life has been hectic and I have 12 dozen cookies due for a cookie exchange and I am hosting thanksgiving next week.... ahhhhh!!!! LOL!<br />
<br />
Have a great day! Thanks for stopping by!Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06308962374410118113noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9085092991846147375.post-59891015581277060482017-10-27T17:37:00.004-05:002017-10-27T17:56:52.285-05:00How I Cleaned my Scan N Cut Mat... Hi all! Wow What a week! I have been fighting with my internet company for a week .... ugh.... we had upgraded our speed about 6 weeks ago after they finally had their new system up and running. It was great till last friday (I was out of town) when the internet went out.... Arg! Kids were home for a long weekend so was not super fun for them :( I had hoped to get this uploaded sooner but it took a whole week to get thing running again. So.... here is a new post for you :)<br />
<br />
After a weekend away scrapping with some amazing ladies and using my Scan n cut a ton I needed to clean up my mats a bit. Now if you are unfamiliar with the scan n cut but have experience with the other similar cutting machines out there the first thing you will notice is the mats are much different! Now for some this is a bad thing but I will say now that I am getting used to them I kind of like them. The adhesive is not nearly so sticky so it is great for more delicate papers. That being said it does not work great for heavier paper and card stock.<br />
<br />
Before I had gone away I had added some watered down <a href="http://amzn.to/2yT8qAl">Aleenes Tack it over and Over</a> . This definitely made my mat stickier! I did leave it to dry for over 24 hours. (Should have made a video but there are a ton out there on youtube.<br />
<br />
DISCLAIMER! This is not recommended by the Brother company! If you muck up your machine because you use too much glue or get it outside the cutting area it will void your warranty!<br />
<br />
Back to the cleaning of the mat part... I used a crocheted kitchen scrubbie (new and made by my mom since I do not crochet) water and some rubber stamp cleaner. This worked great for me!<br />
<br />
Here is a video showing you how I did it ...<br />
<br />

I wanted to make some shaped tags so I went to my ScanNCut... After spending some time with the Canvas free online design program I had what I needed for a couple 2 layer tags and some tiny Holly leaves for embellishments.<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I really love the flexibility with this machine! I used a piece of scrap paper and got a bunch of trees and a ton of leaves... see here...</div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhL4j2lfRFSa6CCd_TjAgAcswl_nS25y6qvNWbVnQYe7mKYNYQt9YQwfVAG8ZLLoSpjI-PLot0nc0ke1gdMD4qYvOC8uExgk9mHpHb8vqQLPtpZ5Y6oVjA7Wtn8E9_M3eAqqcUGSn91fH-r/s1600/0903172111a_wm.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1024" data-original-width="768" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhL4j2lfRFSa6CCd_TjAgAcswl_nS25y6qvNWbVnQYe7mKYNYQt9YQwfVAG8ZLLoSpjI-PLot0nc0ke1gdMD4qYvOC8uExgk9mHpHb8vqQLPtpZ5Y6oVjA7Wtn8E9_M3eAqqcUGSn91fH-r/s320/0903172111a_wm.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
You can choose how many images to use depending on the space available and you can arrange them in a line, alternating or a jumble depending on how you want the negative space to look if you will be using it or to best utilize your paper. If you are trying to fit as many as possible you still have the ability to manipulate each image individually. I was able to cut 15 backings foe my tree tags out of one piece of 8 1/2 x 11 craft cardstock.</div>
<div>
<br />
Here you can see just how tiny those holly leaves are... I do have a punch but the smallest leaf is at least double the size and too big for what I want to use it for.<br />

Hi all! As I was racking my brain recently to figure out a theme / design for my girls sweet 16 birthday cake I was inspired to try a Galaxy theme. She loves the galaxy motif so I went to pinterest. I found a few samples that inspired me and I thought I had the basic process down since I had done the process on card stock, surely fondant could not be too much different... Hmmm... yeah... Well turns out it isn't but it is... It took LOTS of kneading and LOTS of food coloring and LOTS of patience! In the end here is how the cake turned out...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjtI725HwTi_Ueu5uN7mALCsMmzM7eKqX0kq9PSISUwV6p-joCLcm048ZFV6eOIDVQgSm068crpBwjJBEkfa7rhXSjlmWhK62ziRX29CBzNhj71uP0xHS1nv6LzcNzx1qF15RyjYY4-9Bg/s1600/WGalaxy+Cake..jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1283" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjtI725HwTi_Ueu5uN7mALCsMmzM7eKqX0kq9PSISUwV6p-joCLcm048ZFV6eOIDVQgSm068crpBwjJBEkfa7rhXSjlmWhK62ziRX29CBzNhj71uP0xHS1nv6LzcNzx1qF15RyjYY4-9Bg/s320/WGalaxy+Cake..jpg" width="256" /></a></div>
<br />
I'm pretty happy with it! I found some edible shipper spray at Wal Mart and used it with a stencil I tore out of paper to create the wispy look. The grainy white "comet" in the upper right corner was how I fixed and "OOPS" I also added a few constellations I could remember from our Girl Scout Star gazing outing from years ago.<br />
<br />
Verdict.... She really liked it!<br />
<br />
Now how does this translate into cardmaking you may ask... Well I wanted to try this again for some card backgrounds so I could use some of my stamps to make some cards with the night sky in the background.<br />
<br />
<br />
Here is the video on how I made the backgrounds...<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<iframe width="320" height="266" class="YOUTUBE-iframe-video" data-thumbnail-src="https://i.ytimg.com/vi/mF-s3QxTx8k/0.jpg" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/mF-s3QxTx8k?feature=player_embedded" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe></div>
<br />
I still have to make the cards but at least this part is done!<br />
Here is a basic list of the supplies I used<br />
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;"><br style="background-color: white; color: #333333;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #333333;">Heat gun</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #333333;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #333333;">Ken Oliver Colorburst watercolors</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #333333;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #333333;">Memento Tuxedo Black ink</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #333333;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #333333;">Stampin Up Night of Navy inkpad</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #333333;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #333333;">Strathmore 140# watercolor Paper (Yellow pad)</span></span><br />

<br />
I had so much fun at the <a href="http://rubberstampevents.com/">Rubber Stamp Expo</a> last weekend. How lucky am I that I got to spend the day with 2 of my favorite people. My Sis in law Cathy and my amazing Daughter.<br />
<br />
Here are a few photos... There were many more vendors I just kept getting distracted by cool stuff so I did not get pictures of every booth :)<br />

<br />
Hi all, I ran across some content on social media yesterday that really spoke to me. It is called the #CommentKindness Campaign. It is exactly what it sounds like... If you are going to comment on someones social media... be kind... if you do not like their content... move on... no harm done. That's about it... More of my thoughts are in the Video below...<br />

I'm so excited to share this simple DIY project with you! I was having a hard time keeping track of my stylus and remembered something I had made a while back for my sewing machine to hold my seam ripper and small scissors. The one pictured here is Sooo much better than that original holder I made years ago.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuOHIc5NLWFhkTo7sqg6MKiSxzVzb9GIJ2StIVK1FDglmb6YdP_elQU2MnZbqooXGPUGIysG64zsPsuKWB0-kqmgXAswyMwDjfGDVSerH979S7CsmEgDFDixKKKduiji_L6oWEdW7DxOzW/s1600/0629171041%255B962%255D.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuOHIc5NLWFhkTo7sqg6MKiSxzVzb9GIJ2StIVK1FDglmb6YdP_elQU2MnZbqooXGPUGIysG64zsPsuKWB0-kqmgXAswyMwDjfGDVSerH979S7CsmEgDFDixKKKduiji_L6oWEdW7DxOzW/s320/0629171041%255B962%255D.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
All I did was score some chipboard (half of an old Pop-tart box) and cover it with duct tape. It was super simple... In the video below I show how I did it and How I am wrangling the USB cords I use to transfer data between the device and my computer.<br />
<br />

<br />
In other exciting news.... I got a new phone!!!<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhuN1ohFBsTv89UmYaRapCJF8FdKOvGZZQzxMBGWzRM6wAfaL033F0mMMsPJlRRtPZxtheBh_PTVHvPtXZmAjbSES4iircxGOda4a1aJHbuTZlZNWm8w6pLn-v0Q-OsrfLSgBeUyizbthrB/s1600/Fiesta.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="150" data-original-width="204" height="147" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhuN1ohFBsTv89UmYaRapCJF8FdKOvGZZQzxMBGWzRM6wAfaL033F0mMMsPJlRRtPZxtheBh_PTVHvPtXZmAjbSES4iircxGOda4a1aJHbuTZlZNWm8w6pLn-v0Q-OsrfLSgBeUyizbthrB/s200/Fiesta.jpg" width="200" /></a><br />
<br />
It is an <a href="http://prepaidmobilephonereviews.com/straight-talk-lg-fiesta-verizon-compatible-available-now/">LG fiesta</a> I use it through Straight Talk.<br />
<br />
It is so nice to have a phone that works smoothly! The camera is AMAzing!!! I used it to record this straight from the Youtube app. I also did all my editing with the Youtube editor. It was OK but I am so used to my VSCD free Video editor that it took me a few mins to figure out a few things. I do need to see if I can get the phone to stop trying to focus all the time though.<br />
<br />
<br />
Anyhow.... Have a great day! I am trying really hard this year to buckle down and use the tings I purchased at the Stamp and Scrapbook expo. I still have some things I purchased from my first trip last year that I have not used! Ahhh.... what the heck! So... trying to be better at that! You may not see quite so many Haul videos either as I am working on using what I have.<br />

There are links to some of the basic supplies I used in the sidebar > As an FYI they are affiliate links<br />

These stamps really are so much fun and make beautiful cards. I personally tend to lean toward the clean and simple style so they are great for me.<br />

I love being able to create and craft on a budget. One way is when stamp companies offer bare rubber stamps. Meaning they have no foam backing and are not on a wood block. Below is my video on how I deal with unmounted (bare rubber) stamps. Enjoy!<br />

I had a lot of fun making this "Get Well" card for a Co Worker last week. This person does so much for others and deserved a special card.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjFJYjmQ4bTsqYYxDQRwxo0ksrjo6XEb1jrqNIHU5zyMjXdwxt5tgX21h99VaKlJwetCfuN54gLkpUfHgNmtOe6Pt3lYHRIq5449Pu0YeXt58-AdcKk6pHUYxV3TPbr4Uz_9dYk01y_B0P0/s1600/GetWellSHaker.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1080" data-original-width="1080" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjFJYjmQ4bTsqYYxDQRwxo0ksrjo6XEb1jrqNIHU5zyMjXdwxt5tgX21h99VaKlJwetCfuN54gLkpUfHgNmtOe6Pt3lYHRIq5449Pu0YeXt58-AdcKk6pHUYxV3TPbr4Uz_9dYk01y_B0P0/s320/GetWellSHaker.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I just love shaker cards and I have been experimenting with cutting out words with my Brother Scan n Cut so I made this frame out of white card stock with the words welded so it is all one piece. To make the white card stock stand out a bit more I coated it with Versamark and covered it with a holographic embossing powder. Then heated it to adhere and set the powder. I placed a piece of acetate behind the frame (I just re use packaging from other things I buy),doubled up some foam tape and cut it down the center to form narrow strips then lined the back of the frame. To cut the purple I used 2 frame dies then added the white window piece on top. I pulled an A2 card base out of my drawer (I like to have lots handy for when I'm feeling creative). I added Chunky glitter and sequins to the card base in the center then placed the window on top. I had to add the flower embellishments to fix a spot that got messed up. The Acetate got melted when I tried to fix a bit of embossing that had not set and was wiped off. It worked out because I ended up liking the look.</div>

<br />
The first uses one of my <a href="http://rileyandcompanyonline.com/inc/sdetail/124/16064">Riley Moose Stamps called Stacked Eggs</a> . I scribbled water based marker onto a pallet and used a water brush to paint.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcUZhuTElJ2gKzu5AbkAfPLBItodsqi4EyAkII48CCGbL5vrBOth-wszLCXN_qZCK5rUBq5DIbRT-wz23p_TLtJAGeKUtMgnR4qYIeMdgqaqKZdac1brrFtoiR5sgdTAxUgdDE2pmQB1O5/s1600/2017+Easter+Riley+%25282%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcUZhuTElJ2gKzu5AbkAfPLBItodsqi4EyAkII48CCGbL5vrBOth-wszLCXN_qZCK5rUBq5DIbRT-wz23p_TLtJAGeKUtMgnR4qYIeMdgqaqKZdac1brrFtoiR5sgdTAxUgdDE2pmQB1O5/s400/2017+Easter+Riley+%25282%2529.jpg" width="266" /></a></div>
<br />
The Patterned Paper is by Doodlebug designs. I cut both Riley and the oval with my new Brother Scan N Cut2. For Riley I added a .04 border and to cut the Oval I selected it from the shapes templates. I made the white dashes with a white gel pen. I would have preferred a stitched oval di for cutting it out but do not own one.<br />
<br />
<br />
My next card was inspired by Pinterest. I had wanted to make it last year but my Oval dies were not large enough. With my Brother Scan n Cut2 this was no problem. Using the oval templates I was able to cut out exactly what I needed.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEidllKE6PGn06hXCxE3IxjeYGp7s_gpWaUmy784zpQO7ElaJUXfbE_PCxjVTcSW9Z_C68cJcqgOGE9EnoqYnm-EjeZAf-8tYtmpQOJJwZDtEhLLlNGJ1bX_H-2rbXYuwtAGBreGFdSRFpxm/s1600/2017+Easter+bunny+%25282%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEidllKE6PGn06hXCxE3IxjeYGp7s_gpWaUmy784zpQO7ElaJUXfbE_PCxjVTcSW9Z_C68cJcqgOGE9EnoqYnm-EjeZAf-8tYtmpQOJJwZDtEhLLlNGJ1bX_H-2rbXYuwtAGBreGFdSRFpxm/s320/2017+Easter+bunny+%25282%2529.jpg" width="228" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I really wanted to film the process but as of right now I do not have a way to mount my camera in the right place. I am waiting on a new clamp from Amazon so next time I can try to let you watch. It is a pretty fun process.<br />
<br />
Thanks for stopping by!<br />

I purchased the stamps and dies last summer from an expo I attended with my sister in law (if you follow my <a href="https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCqDxzfBCnb6cJe_CKDdcHSQ">YouTube channel</a> you may have seen the <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XVRKOfZAKh4&index=21&t=2s&list=PL_Vtt8L6c9UIXW_0P4cumaUHNr5HIa7tE">haul video</a>). The Brand of the Stamps and Dies is Art Impressions and this is their <a href="https://www.artimpressions.com/shop/mini-cake-spinner-set-4734/">mini cake spinner set</a>. I did use a sentiment from Close to my heart instead of what came with the set.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgoUIzHIsuQotbGfBLgceojuzszt0Qb02xW0du7T41f4-s8PeBAXbOi2sgAEgLF97uxkcfJUsXRUBovlLxqAeC5yAPbexDZtrO5cMXv_WWL-pTIpl7tEAK6oDCWteH4d-4oo9xr9a-UCR7T/s1600/bday+spinner+2.18.17.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgoUIzHIsuQotbGfBLgceojuzszt0Qb02xW0du7T41f4-s8PeBAXbOi2sgAEgLF97uxkcfJUsXRUBovlLxqAeC5yAPbexDZtrO5cMXv_WWL-pTIpl7tEAK6oDCWteH4d-4oo9xr9a-UCR7T/s400/bday+spinner+2.18.17.jpg" width="225" /></a></div>
<br />
There is a bit of a learning curve to making these but once you get the hang of it they go pretty quick.. I colored the cake with my Copic Ciao markers. I am still a novice at coloring but I am having fun and get a bit better each time.<br />
<br />
Here are the other 2 cards I made... <br />

I had such a great weekend spending time with 2 of my favorite gals... Saturday I got to hang out with my Mom. We checked out the local thrift stores and the dollar tree. Then she took me to lunch! We had super yummy burgers at a local bar -n- grille. <br />
<br />
It really has been nice having her here with us now. Not only can I call on each other when we need a hand but it is so nice to just be able to call each other and hang out.<br />
<br />
On Sunday My girl and I ventured to the Cities. She drove so she could get some practice with city driving and she did well even though she was a bit rattled a few times. We did not find much to purchase but we enjoyed browsing. I just love the chats we have in the car. Honestly I really look forward to the time we spend together. It will not be long until she is off to college and discovering her life.<br />
<br />
Things have been difficult at my job... we have had lots of changes and tension. I am seeing a light at the end of the tunnel though and look forward to finishing the school year strong!<br />
<br />
I have been working at my craft desk. You can check out what I have been up to on my Facebook page and instagram. I tend to post more there just because it is easier and a bit quicker for me.<br />
<br />
Thanks for taking the time to stop by today... Here is a funny I found last week that totally fit where I was at :) Have a great week!!!<br />

I had a chance a couple weekends ago to spend a Saturday with some of my crafty friends. Oh how I needed a "Day Off!" We had an amazing time as the bunch of us had not been all together in one room for over a year. The laughter and creativity of the day was an amazing gift!<br />
<br />
Here are some of the cards I made. Most are posted over on my Instagram account. My handle is b2bmomblog if you want to check it out.<br />
<br />
<br />
These are all inspired by other cards I saw on Pinterest. I hope they inspire you!<br />

I LOVE the Riley character from <a href="http://www.rileyandcompanyonline.com/">Riley and Co</a>! He is just so darn cute! All are colored with alcohol markers except the top middle. That is watercolor markers. I think that and the bottom witch are my favorite. Still working on learning to blend but I'm definitely improving. Now I'm off to my day job!<br />
<br />

This last one was really fun! I tried to duplicate some "Galaxy Techniques" I had seen on YouTube.<br />
It took a bit of work since I did not have nice watercolor paints like the demo's I watched but I used my distress inks and Memento black all stamped onto a clear block I used as a palette then spritzed with water. I struggled to get the white flecks (stars) and ended up using a white pigment ink from a ink pad. I also stamped it onto a clear block added water then flicked it with a paint brush.<br />
The tree is cut out of tan textured paper from an inexpensive multi pack I got at a craft store. I cut the tree with an older Sizix die I got for a bargain at a garage sale. I gave it dimension with some distress ink using a sponge to apply it.<br />
<br />
The other small elements are punched with an older Creative Memories punch. The pumpkins were punched fro orange paper and I used a Copic marker to create a bit of dimension.<br />
<br />
I hope you feel inspired to play with you craft supplies! I seem to have the most fun when I just start "trying stuff". Have a great day!<br />

No wonder with all I have had going on. What have I been up to? Well...<br />
I am heavily involved with a local booster club and with practice for fall sports in full swing I have had lots of responsibilities. I organized a dunk tank at our local block party. I was in charge of a fundraiser to kick off the season. I have been working with parents new to our sport to help their families feel like they know what is going on. (Putting your child in a new sport you know nothing about can be daunting especially with a combined MS and HS team)<br />
I was able to fit in a girls weekend about 3 weeks ago and I was so glad I did! It was time much needed with a dear friend!<br />
Next week I am having my daughters team over for a "feed" You would not believe how much bread and pasta 30 girls can eat!<br />
Last but not least I have been helping my out of state mom get things in order to move here to my town! Yayyyy!!! It has been an emotional roller coaster that I really can not begin to describe unless you have lived it. My family and I are just so thankful that she will be with us!<br />
I have lived 1500 miles from my Mom for 17 years and 1000 miles from the rest of my family for 19 years. While I LOVE my mid west life, living far from family does have it's downside especially if you have children. While My husbands family is in our state the closest of his siblings is an hour away. Thankfully my kids have a wonderful relationship with that Aunt and Uncle (Partly because that Aunt is relocated from the west coast so she gets it. She and I are Great friends!) I wish I could say that the kids have a relationship with their grandparents that are 3 hours away but, well... they do not.<br />
Thankfully I have been able to handle much of the paperwork for her here otherwise thank goodness for fax machines to keep things moving. There is a TON of paperwork for subsidized housing! I got her storage unit rented and took care of setting up her electric service. Now I am working on getting some staples and a few special gifts to make her feel welcome. If you have any ideas please let me know!<br />
<br />
So, for the creativity part of this post... Here is a card I made from one of the colored images from my last post.<br />

I was not sure how much I liked it but it got a "WOAH, That's cool!" from my boy (11). So I guess it is a keeper, or at least it is gift worthy. He said He wishes he would get an awesome card like this for his birthday. Can I just say I love this kid!<br />
<br />
I hope you enjoy this card as much as my boy :)<br />
<br />
Thanks for stopping by!<br />
